What was the difference, in a practical sense, between uploading it via said desktop client, and doing so via Firefox, IE, Opera, or whatever?

I don't know if it's the booze or what, but I'm confused on what he means by "desktop client".

[livejournal.com profile] semagic.

It's a desktop app that improves on the web interface.

And it works under 7.

Oh, an LJ desktop client, gotcha. I thought you meant an FTP desktop client, which didn't make sense for a couple reasons. I could never see the point in those, but I joined Livejournal after the web update thing was working, so yeah.

FTP clients: Filezilla. There's no point to using anything *but* it. Period.

Yeah, I use SmartFTP because I could never get used to Windows Explorer FTP integration, but I meant never saw the point in LJ clients.

It's mostly having a fast set of keyboard shortcuts for HTML and the like that doesn't rely on waiting for a website to load.

I use FireFTP because it's easier to just go to a bookmark than to load up a whole new application, and I only ever usually FTP one place anyway.

Yep. Happy FireFTP user here as well. Has everything I need in a couple of simple drop-down boxes.

Lies. Semagic never runs perfectly. It is just waiting to stab you in the back. Or the front. Depends on which way you're facing.

That pointy muzzle and chop licking pose is definitely Chuck Jones material. I can practically hear the sloppy lip-smacking-licking in anticipation of a yummy supper!

I suspect you may have found the source of my default icon and despressingly pre-furry-knowledge username.

It's funny how you and [livejournal.com profile] fantasygoat (complete with totally non-furry bunny costume) and [livejournal.com profile] theferrett share that mindset.

Which, that I picked a username without realising it would associate me with a subculture I'm not part of?

That was my initial thought, but it seems way too skinny for a tanuki. My guess is african civet (http://www.animalpicturesarchive.com/view.php?tid=3&did=7887).

I still need you to sign mysterious government papers for me. Can I meet up with you somewhere downtown or in the west end this week?
