Dammit, this is bugging me.
Nov. 4th, 2009 04:06 pm"Mauritian". Pronounced "MORE-EE-SHUN". And yet, in my head, it keeps coming out as "mow-ee-shen" or "moe-WEE-SHUN" - like Elmer Fudd or Lawwy Kwipke was saying it.
I'm *sure* this is because I've heard somebody with that hyper-exaggerated R-is-W accent saying the word, repeatedly, but I can't find Kripke doing it and I can't imagine Fudd doing it, and so it's driving me nuts - WHERE did I pick this up?
These are the things that occupy my days.

Naming entire countries after single people is not all that uncommon.
None of them match The Republic Of Dave for sheer cool factor, though.
