Recently, Time named the 00s the worst decade ever. This is clearly ridiculous when you consider their comparison set includes decades featuring things like "The Atmosphere is Made of Pure Sulfur" and "Romans Fed My Hippie Flesh to a Fucking Lion." But what if we narrow the criteria to the last 100 years?

It's easy to label the last decade the worst when we reflect on all time before it through rosy, nostalgic lenses. In 10 years, the 2000s won't look so bad.

My personal reasons for reflecting poorly on the 2000s are because I obtained major depression which systematically ruined every aspect of my life. However outside of my small sphere, it was like any other decade: not as good as it could've been, but not as bad as it could've been.

Not that I'm surprised, but the last paragraph pretty much ruined it for me. Pointing out the ignorance of using 'gay' as a slur and then doing the exact same thing with 'she-male' smacks of hypocrisy.

The 00's were somewhat worse than the 80's.

Certainly better than two world wars and the Cold War.

Very funny, though I can't say as I agree. Based upon his own criteria, the 40's should be the worst decade, but he seems to be choosing arbitrarily. Still, made me giggle.
