Ian's Mom's Thai Green Chicken Curry.

I had this today as a soup, at Ian's wedding. It is BRILLIANT.

My sister is good friends with [livejournal.com profile] cortejo & Co. I would have been at their place for a birthday thing not long ago but I wound up feeling too rotten to go. OTTAWA IS SO SMALL.

MY SOUP!
MINE!

I complimented the cook and he said "Take some home! There's lots of leftovers." Perhaps you should have been more generous with your compliments.

So, hypothetically, were I to stop by your house on my way out of downtown this afternoon, might I be rewarded with a Bucket O' Soup?

It turns out we mostly have the squash soup, but Rayne can do you some of that, for sure.

I got no soup. Soup and silk don't mix, or, rather, they do. Badly.

It's mostly the curry soup I'm jonesing for. I'll give Alex and John a call, they've promised me a bucket.

Wheeee, soup.

And, hey, I didn't know you were related/whatever it's called to John and Alex. Perusing your info: who's your Silat teacher? My former Muay Thai/BJJ/Silat teacher handled all of it, but I never got into the details of the weapon arts. And my knees are too badly damaged to do any of it, any more.

You took SIlat? From Guru Carver right? My teacher was Guru Kevin Hill, but he is taking a break from teaching right now. I am hoping he will come back to it.

I just got into BJJ, it is fine for my knees...but it is killing my back. I miss silat, it was...more finesse! I do BJJ at www.oama.ca

I never took Silat from "Khru"[1] Carver - he taught me purely Muay Thai, and I took Muay Thai and BJJ from his pupils. I tutored one of the BJJ instructors through 4th year engineeering, and it worked out reasonably well.

I'm not doing any martial arts, any more. I have torn ligaments *and* arthritis in both knees, and the short version on surgical reconstruction is "after six months of therapy you will be back where you are now". So I'm not bothering. If/when I damage them further, I can get repaired back to the current condition.

[1]: Not "Guru", because I didn't take Silat. Basically.

I have no idea. I stopped being a student because the school moved away from me and my injuries caught up to me. When I left, he was still teaching.
