"Actually, I think it's the Century of the Wallaby by now."
"Well then, it's about time, isn't it?"

No, last century was the Century of the Fruitbat, so the post is correct.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't Wallaby, but I couldn't remember what it actually was, and didn't have the time to go look it up.

Anyway, it could very well be the Century of the Wallaby, in some other leg of the Trousers of Time.

Except that the extant member states don't have to extend those protections - at least to the T part of LGBT. Look at Britain stripping away trans people's legal rights with the upcoming (so-called) Equalities Act. Cos, you know, you only have to extend "genuine protection" to trans people until it looks like your customers might get upset, omg! Look at what France puts trans people through. And so on, and so on. (Also, don't forget, it's a-okay to discriminate against LGBT people if you're a church! The government says so!)

Fucking hypocrites.

"Last week, Albania, which is also seeking membership in the EU, passed a new anti-discrimination law that fulfills of the LGBT protection requirements for European Union member states, despite strong opposition from that nations Muslim, Orthodox and Catholic communities."

I am shocked, I tell you, that the main opposition was from religious groups. Shocked.

I wish I saw this as progress, rather then yet another way to exclude Turkey from joining the EU for their own political reasons.

Some of the protection requirements? All of the protection requirements? None of the protection requirements? Missing words make a ___ difference.

Wow, they've harvested your comments at that website. Which means some of them really don't make sense.
