See, I expected up and over into the tank, so the way it turned out was surprising enough to warrant laughter.

I love how the cat hits so hard that it stays horizontal for a moment...

And I find this video amusing because I had a cat that stupid once. His name was Spike. If you turned off the lights he'd get lost in the house and we once figured out he had the memory span of a clown fish because at the same time the clown fish would forget there was a cat and come swimming out from behind the rock, Spike would forget there was a fish and both would be surprised with the fish swimming back behind the rock and Spike batting at the glass.

It should be noted his best friend was Other Cat...who lived in turned off TV screens, mirrors, and highly cleaned windows.

Most cats eventually figure out that the Other Cat is not a cat, and avoid looking in reflective surfaces afterward. That Spike never managed this does indeed say something about his (lack of) intelligence...

He was the runt of a litter of cats we fostered. When they were tiny we let kept them in our bathroom and his favorite place to sleep was at the bottom of the wash basin of the sink with his siblings on top of him. I'm convinced he didn't get enough oxygen at key points in his development.

What is it with cats and sinks? My cat doesn't do this, but my former roommate's cat did. I'd go into the bathroom to wash my hands and there she'd be, looking at me like, "What?"

I've helped to raise 11 cats over the years, and I swear, none of them were that dumb. A couple were close though. (Like Morris, aka Lardballus Maximus)

..... of course, we never had fish, so maybe they would have done that after all. I know one of the cats loved watching the pair of gerbils we had for a while (but she never tried to leap through the tank to get them).

The addition of my cat to my parents' house when I was a kid resulted in all of the *brightly* coloured fish disappearing out of the fish tank. The ones that were clear, or that blended in? They lived.

The cat would lie on top of the tank, on the lid/light, and dangle her paw in the water down the back where all the hoses went.
