We'll be getting her tested before we let her out to meet our cats. Meanwhile we're handwashing between her and them, both directions. If she is, well, that means that we can't rehome her to a multi-cat home, but truly a cat can live a pretty good and longish, if slightly restricted, life with FIV.
It looks AWFUL in that pic; I thought about Photoshopping it, but there's the Cone Of Shame... it looks as bad as it does there becuase she'd just come from having it cleaned out at the vet, so it was giving off a bit of serum and that always looks dire.
Oh. Hell. Our gray tabby girl died in our arms three weeks ago. This is killing me. PLEASE pose updates on her healing and rescue. Thank you for taking care of her.
I am so sorry. While we were at the vet with Nameless a couple came in with a cat who couldn't be saved; it brought back a lot of hard memories for all of us, I think. I'm glad you were there to hold her; I'm sorry for what it cost you.
Nameless is out of the bathroom now that we don't need to watch her quite so closely and enjoying the run of the spare room now, and my partner is posting updates (http://fairestcat.dreamwidth.org/529349.html).
I'll keep up generally, but it's the actual rescuer (http://fairestcat.dreamwidth.org/) who's probably the best person to watch for details. I was the ride to the vet and home again.
Dreamwidth. Dreamwidth friend... Please excuse me. I'm a little loopy for health reasons, and as ridiculous as it is, I seem to be reacting to this as though it were my cat that's been injured and saved.
We'll do our possible. She's adorable, but we really truly are at capacity around here, and two of ours are older with health challenges. We'll foster her as long as we have to, but we're trying hard not to bond. Hence 'Nameless'.
(I admit I'm checking the profiles of everyone who comments here ... I don't think transatlantic shipping plus quarantine would be great for here, or you gotta know I'd be leaning pretty hard... :-)
