A Person Paper on Purity in Language

Think how ugly it would be to say "All persons are created equal," or "All whites and blacks are created equal." Besides, as any schoolwhitey can tell you, such phrases are redundant. In most contexts, it is self-evident when "white" is being used in an inclusive sense, in which case it subsumes members of the darker race just as much as fairskins.

I think I love Douglas Hofstadter.

Right. I'm just now coming around to the realization that if TWK hasn't read that already, that means he's never read Metamagical Themas. This is awful.

The only problem with this is that, no matter what word you use, some asshole will insist that it wasn't "really" meant to apply to some hapless group of victims.
