Space Solar Panels had better be at least two orders of magnitude better than Earth Solar Panels to be worth it, economically, once you factor in the cost of shipping up raw materials and shipping down the resulting products.

Which isn't to say that it wouldn't be useful to be able to manufacture high-efficiency, low-mass, high-resilience solar panels for future spacecraft. But the idea that we'd be able to use any of that on Earth sounds like a pipedream / an appeal for funding from gullible lawmakers.
