I have a new carpet. It is AWESOME.

Angus agrees.

Kitty is the Official Spokesmodel of my new rug. He helped install it, after all.

Oh wow, he looks really good now! ^_^

(My memory blows, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been that long since you posted shaved and emaciated Angus pics. Nice work.)

And the rug is cool too.

We got him at the end of August, and posted the second bunch of pics (some 2-3 weeks old at that point) at the end of September.

His hair is growing in, is most of it - he's a longhaired cat who was SHAVED, not just "skinny", in the previous pics.

I had that exact carpet! It is an awesome design.

And I'm not bitter that I lost because my brother didn't think I would give him $60 to pay the year's back rent on the storage shed. No I am not.*

*Yes, yes I am. I loved that carpet. And my antique cherry library table, and my 3000 SF/Fantasy paperbooks dating back to the 30s, and my...

I love Persian carpets. I grew up with 'em and they've always been awesome.

(For the record, this rug is literally almost an INCH THICK. It is AWESOMELY comfy.)

I had 4 Persian carpets in that shed. I've had beds that weren't as comfy as all those carpets piled on each other.

The carpet is fab (I grew up with Persian carpets, too -- hope to inherit them at some point!) . . . and Angus looks SO much happier and healthier, YAY!

They're not THAT expensive, he said as someone who has never actually paid for one himself, only gotten them as gifts and/or handmedowns.

I figure that since my mother has about six of them (really nice ones that she and my Dad got in Europe), I might as well wait until I have a sizable enough place for them -- my teeny townhouse doesn't really provide an ideal venue for laying them out.

One of these days, I'm moving . . . just hope the housing market recovers a bit soon!

It depends on the quality of the carpets.

At least that's what the merchants displaying the rugs in Bahrain said... like with the rugs going for 20,000+ Bahrain Dinar. Maybe he was wrong.

I feel that this is a Godfather reference, and yet I'm not getting it.

(These rugs are ubiquitous up here, man. And also this example is particularly awesome)

Godfather II actually. Took place in the flashback scenes. You have seen both of them* right?

There's probably not a whole lot in common with the carpet in the scene I'm talking about, but it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.

[* anyone trying to convince me that there are three Godfather films will be met with a blank stare]

I have seen both, and I may or may not have seen an alleged third movie.

But I still didn't get the reference. Apparently it's been too long!

The rug is absolutely gorgeous, but holy shit, Angus!

He looks WONDERFUL! He's coming along so nicely, it's obvious that you and Frances spoil the hell out of him. As befits one of his High Station, of course.

You got a carpet to match your cat, didn't you?

How terrific he looks. Great carpet, too.

Our little starvation victim--and it turns out that her former owners starved her because they ran out of money to feed her, how horrific is that?--has finally started eating normally and is up to a normal-ish weight, while the one who was madly obsessed with guarding and gobbling her food is finally calming down. Rescue kitties...*shakes head*
