Anyone who wants Assassin's Creed 2, it's on sale until noon tomorrow for $16 - $12 if you own AC1.

Notably, I own AC1. And thus get the secondary discount. Which also applies to gift copies. I'm just saying.

(NB: AC2 is a Ubisoft game, which means it has shit-tastic stupid DRM on it: While playing, it REQUIRES a constant internet connection with Ubisoft. Your internet goes down for longer than a few minutes? Your game closes. But for $12 I'm willing to put up with that long enough to try it. Set your own price-to-stupidity points as you see fit.)

AC2 is a far better game, taken as a game, than AC1. Not having the long forced horsewalks to show off the scenery, far less of the bullshit minigame-centric gameplay, having fucking subtitles.

I wouldn't pay money for a game with that DRM though. It's not minutes - a hiccup of a couple seconds will force you to reload.

I'm willing to risk the price of a movie on it. I don't often get hiccups like that, and AC1, at least, saved regularly.

Yes, I'd like to try that game, but given my wireless connection is far from reliable, I don't think a tenner is worth it.

Fortunately, as tends to happen, the pirate groups provide a superior product that doesn't need an internet connection to a frequently DDOSed server.

I think I'll buy it on 360, where there won't be any additional DRM. And it's now available there for £10 too!
