I recall one legal case awhile back (can't find it in Google, sadly) where a tabloid received a silly legal threat over one of its articles, and said thread ended with, "Your response to this letter will be used to determine how much damages we will seek". The response to that letter was thusly: "Hypothetically speaking, if our response was, 'fuck you', how much damages would that be?" The lawsuit never materialized. :-)
