It does seem such an utterly ludicrous claim.

They don't want to seel their product in Canada, Scandinavia, most of the northern, Russia or northern Britain? Hell, London is one of the biggest tech markets in the world, can't be used there in the winter.

Backtrack to be announced how soon?

Add where I live in Australia to that list, where it often goes below zero in winter. iPhone: warranty void if used anywhere in the world.

Only makes sense. Using an iPad when it's sunny out also does that. (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10472904-263.html)

At the moment I work for a telcom which does iPhone tech support in my country.

You can guess how happy I've been with this. >:|

Couple of nights ago I had a dream where I did iPhone support (and had to deal with a douche customer who refused to give her ID), while at the same time minding 200 orphan kittens.

I liked the kitten part.

old news.

Basically condensation hits the "water" sensor paper that you can see in the headphone jack (use a light, it turns bright pink).

The first thing an Apple store will check on a warranty claim is that this is not pink.
