Date: 2011-02-04 03:16 am (UTC)Brahe's model was regressive. It was ignoring a fair bit of evidence at the time, mostly in the name of pacifying the Catholic church. Yeah, He had some other justifications, but those were mostly window dressing to the 'appease the clergy' center.
I don't want to call Brahe himself a shithead, because he was otherwise an excellent astronomer. He was still worlds ahead of, say, a modern creationist.
