I don't get it. Is this a joke about Inception, or is the guy a robot?

Of course he can, in every civilised place on the planet. He just has to wait another week to do it in the USA.

The sad thing is, this is a joke from a decade before you were born.

Normally that would be my method of choice to getting to the bottom of something like this. But since I don't get the joke at all, and therefore can't tell which part is the reference and which part is the humor, it seemed simpler to just ask. Somehow things aren't going as I planned.

the 'directors extended cut' version would be of most assistance

Absolutely. The joke isn't even a joke without the director's cut version.

Name is a reference, as is email address. I typed the name into the Wikipedia search box to confirm. But...

Watch the film. SRSLY.

Ditto. I didn't get it at all either, and for the record, I'm a decade older.

Thanks for charging in and asking so I didn't have to! ;)

If I had a bit of time to spare I would go into a multi-paragraph ramble about how little sense it makes that Deckard is now supposed to be a replicant, but since I'm extremely busy cursing Ridley Scott, I will do no such thing and will instead leave this link (http://www.1000misspenthours.com/reviews/reviewsa-d/bladerunner.htm) for your perusal.

Pretty awesome animated gif, though.

Am I the only one who thinks that eventually, giving the age of the remake etc, we're going to see a Blade Runner prequel?

Or (shudder) a remake?

uhhh.. did I do that?
