Because he blogs about this stuff, and his commenters give him further ideas. (As if he needed them.)

I'm reminded of how Bruce Schneier once mentioned that being a security professional means that you think in different ways to normal people. A company says "hey, we've got this smart water, you spray it on your stuff and then, if anyone steals it, you can scan it and prove that it's yours". Normal people say "hey, neat" or "you know, that might work". Bruce Schneier thinks "I should spray all of my smart water on other people's stuff and then accuse them of stealing it".

But then, Bruce Schneier knows Alice and Bob's shared secret (http://geekz.co.uk/shop/store/show/schneier-tshirt).

My favourite example Schneier gave of the security mindset was his friend showing him an ad to order, by mail, a swarm of bees (for beekeepers).

His friend's said "Cool! You can order bees by post!"
Schneier's response was "Actually, if you know someone's address, you can send them a tube of live bees."
