My brother's been doing this for years. I've done it a few times. Fizzy raspberries!

You joke about that, but carbonated water is the norm in Germany. I went a full first month burpy with a vaguely unsettled stomach before I figured out where the non-carbonated water was in the supermarkets.

I'm not joking about it at all. I asked for a glass of water to go along with my beer and my meal in a German restaurant and the waiter was all "Water? Like from the toilet?" before figuring I was just a confused foreigner who didn't know the right word for carbonated water.

Germans: Weird.

Yep, and they give you ice cream when you ask for ice, and give you funny looks when you ask for ice cubes.

Oh, man, I love when I've got strawberries that are just barely fermented and so slightly carbonated. They're awesome!
