Scott Adams long ago tripped on the same stumbling block to socialisation that Fred Phelps, Ann Coulter, Andy Dick, and Dennis Rodman did: Mistaking "getting attention" for "being important".
He does this kind of things regularly, just cycling the targets of his stupidity. Did you know he's a creationist? Well he is sometimes, when he wants to get a whole lot of links from people who like science.
