I showed this one to my youngest, then the hatchling one.

Her response? "I didn't know skunks laid eggs!"

Being the youngest in your class sucks, ESPECIALLY when you skip a year or two. It's actually probably better to be older.

(Born... first week of September? Yeah, my birthday is mid-August, and no, September would have been nice.)

Being that much older definitely gives a major leg up in athletics, if nothing else.

They're cute when they're that age, but also so not in control of their scent glands.

So speaks the voice of experience.

I didn't realize that. How interesting. (I realize that if you're the one dealing with a randomly-spraying skunklet, your response might be, "Stuff your 'interesting.'")

They're somewhat related to ferrets (and apparently act like massive ferrets), and one of the ferret breeders in a ferret community I'm in got her hands on an albino skunk a while back.

I have Monsters. I'm quite used to things odiferous, and he can't POSSIBLY smell any worse than Bubba's feet, anyway!

Best appreciated from the other side of a window.

Except when you have one fall in your basement window well and you have to figure out how to get it out again without the steeeeenky factor... (human society had good advice: staple a towel to a 2x6 board drop it in at an angle, put cat food at the top, go away.)
