of course, here in australia 'teabagging' is something those guys wouldn't own up to doing - at least, not in public ... \^/

It's why they changed to calling themselves "Tea Partiers". "Teabagging" means the same thing in the US.

They can call themselves whatever they want, they'll still be Teabaggers...

We can only speculate why widespread tea bagging made Cavuto think of the Million Man march, unless he got them confused with Dick Armey. And in Cavuto’s defense, if you are planning simultaneous tea bagging all around the country, you’re going to need a Dick Armey."

Same in the US and Canada.

But they didn't know that when they chose the name "Teabaggers" for themselves, and I refuse to stop calling them by their own chosen name just because they don't like it any more.

ignorance, after all, *is* their only defence.

no wait. their only strength.

no wait. their only excuse.

ah, crap. they can try calling themselves *anything* they like. but they've been teabaggers for years. only in friendly media will anyone care about their sudden and inevitable betrayal stupidity realisation.

Granted, there were also a lot of references to Hitler made by people on the left during the last administration. I'd suggest, though, that Godwin's Law should be updated so that an argument ends at the mention of "socialism."

#1: Godwin's Law doesn't say the argument ends. It says that as an argument progresses, comparison to Hitler/Nazis is inevitable.

#2: When one group *really are*, literally, openly racist and fascist? The comparison's inevitability is really not the point so much as it's accuracy.

#3: "Obama is like Hitler BECAUSE HE IS BLACK!"

But how would that work when there are bona fide legitimate actual socialists in the conversation?

The same way it works when there are bona fide Nazis in the situation. I think.

Except bona fide nazis are people for whom Freedom of Association (or not) was invented for.

But us nice fluffy liberal socialists tend to spend most of our time pointing out how unsocialist most of that right winger in the Oval Office's policies are ;-)

Much as actual invocations of Godwin's Law rarely have anything to do with actual Nazi policy.

Except, when you're discussing *fascists*, the fake that Godwin's Law has once again been proven true is not exactly big news.

So Obama's more Hitlerish than Hitler? wow - just - WOW.

Of course, now I see it - all Obama needs is the mustache and then he'll truly be Hitler's doppleganger.
