Ok, so the text is clearly from one of the anti-piracy ads that are delightfully skewered here.

I wonder if the bear is a reference to Boom! And a Bear Comes Out!. Or if there's something else being referenced that I haven't bumped into yet...

I would be more likely to suspect that it's based on Stephen Colbert's well-publicised terror of bears.

Aaaah, sounds more likely. I know almost nothing about Stephen Colbert.

Pretty sure it's from a manga.

Better than mailing a bobcat, I suppose.

It depends on how big a bear it was and how much it would cost to feed it.

Sun Bears are tiny and adorable! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_bear) Also endangered, thanks to charlatans convincing idiots that their bile is medicine.

They are also bad-tempered (although adorable). Eh, perhaps I will forgo having a pet bear. Having one cat we lovingly call "Kitty Scissorhands" and one with the personality of a Jack Russell terrier might be adequate fun for one household. Not to mention the reptiles.

also: *amused* by the bear - it looks like it's crying over the idea of being downloaded.

Of course I would! They have no bears in NZ, and this makes me sad.

Bears are awesome.

You *so* would.

And I would help you feed it and love it and pet it and cuddle it and call it George. Unless we named it Barry. Parameters might need to be revised if we named it Barry.

I might download a koala. But it's not a real bear.
