I spent 20 seconds trying to figure out what was funny about the license plate.

I also. I'm now wondering if it had two Acrod stickers on the front. Oh, sorry, they've rebranded, they're National Disability Services now.

Except that this is almost certainly in the Netherlands (note the EU flag and NL on the number plate).

I must say, this is quite possibly the least Dutch thing I've ever seen - totally unlike what you expect from the country.

Mmm, yes, I should have added "or whatever the local equivalent is.."

well, one *could* argue that *that* is a kind of disability.

Given that I can't actually tell from the signage on the vehicle as I'm unfamiliar with it if the driver actually is disabled, it's not unreasonable to give the benefit of the doubt that they might have needed more space than that to get in and out of their vehicle, as that appears to just be a regular sized space butted right up against a bike rack.

In which case, there's another whole space where the right hand wheels are...

Except at that point, if someone parks in the left-hand space you can't get back in.

Yep, I thought about that after and was going to post it this morning, having had the experience of trying to get a wheelchair up between cars in normal-sized spaces!

Yes, disabled parking spaces are always wider, so as to allow for a wheelchair. (I thought that was a general rule across the EU, but maybe not.) So the driver may well be disable and simply ensuring s/he has enough space.
OTOH, it's parked pretty damm sloppily anyway, with the front wheels over the line. So maybe it's just a typical Hummer driver after all.

I feel such a pure feeling of righteous anger, it's almost pleasurable. Where's a baseball bat when you need it?

Then again, that level of douchery is almost impressive in its sheer unadulterated ballsiness.

Of course, it's all for naught if the handicapped indicators are somewhere in the front... even in America you can just have a hangtag from the rear view mirror. That's what my dad has.
