Good. Now let's see if the culture is mature enough to keep the discussion about prosecuting rapist and statutory rapists, rather than letting their disapproval spill over onto all plural marriages, as has been the historical trend.
I don't think it should spill over onto all plural marriages - I'm poly myself, and sympathetic to poly folk who want marriage.
That said, some implementations of plural marriage - specifically, the lopsided ones that create an expectation of polygyny without polyandry - are inherently toxic. A community can have rampant child abuse without plural marriage, but if lopsided plural marriage is the norm it will lead to child abuse. To find enough women for all the men, either you have to keep lowering the female marriage age, or you have to get rid of your surplus boys.
