I just read about this, and it's amazing. Creative activism for the win!

(With a link to a "help me get out of my neo-nazi group without getting killed or becoming homeless" organisation.)

I think this is awesome but...I thought Germany had strict laws against extreme right wing propaganda?

Against Nazi iconography, in fact. And Nazi slogans, etc etc etc.

The National Democratic Party, formerly the German Reich Party, formerly the National Socialist German Worker's Party, is a legal organisation, because while Nazi-specific speech and iconography is banned, being a white supremacist and claiming various Nazi party members as martyrs for the cause is not.

And the concert in question was NPD-sponsored, featuring white supremacist bands.

It's a cute idea if you agree with the sentiment, but I wonder if it will actually change any minds.

Think of it this way... with the "three-k" attitude* these guys** have, it's probably the reluctant spouse doing the laundry and seeing the message anyway.

-- Steve thinks it's excellent targeting for the message.

* can't remember the German off-hand, but the line about women only being important for children, kitchen, and bed thing

Of course, this assumes that neo-Nazis actually follow basic hygiene procedures.
