Thank you, but never mind. I think I found them on Ravelry.com. BrownDog will be the not-really-proud-but-very-tolerant possesor of a hat with ears! Bwah ha ha ha.
Probably works better. :D It was pure improvization except the ears (and that bit involved staring at a crochet pattern and wondering if I could knit something in the same mostly-round vein) and I'm not sure I could have written it out.
My sympathies to BrownDog! He will doubtless wear them bravely.
