Does this only make sense to people playing it on consoles? I don't recall getting a Steam achievement at this point in the game, but it was a while back...
I think it's more a commentary on the fact that people will do the dumbest of things if it's worth an achievement. Didn't play Portal2 though so I have no idea.
That's awesome, I'll have to try it - but I'm using G+ under my real name for work reasons, and I try to keep my real name and my livejournal not *trivially* search-connected.
It's not impossible for people who want to work at it, just... different topics, different audiences.
Yeah, I already messed up with my gmail name... So, I just said screw it. I'm trying to keep it pretty clean on G+ though. I linked my lj anyway. Anything I REALLY don't want people to see is friends locked anyway. Hopefully no one goes super sleuth and tries to figure out what else I may be connected to, and under what name.. *shrugs*
Wheatley puts you on a platform over a super-deep pit with a pile of steel walls set to smash you, gloats briefly (while you portal out), and then is all "awww, the trap was supposed to work".
He then is all "uh, plan b. Would you mind jumping into that pit right there?"

On a larger scale, the phenomenon that players will do anything, no matter how stupid, for an achievement? Is in LOTS of games.
