This is so silly. I mean, in the first panel he knows it's English Speaking Deer, even though he presumably already has the sunglasses on, so what's his problem? :p

Sunglasses Deer "only speaks Japanese now." This is a new development.

Presumably Japanese Sunglasses Deer always floated, so distinguishing the Japanese speakers was never a problem.
