Although my bibliophilic nature causes me to cringe a little whenever I see book art like this, I am usually awed by how amazing the sculptures are.
As well as being brilliant pieces, the mystery and motive behind them make this an especially neat story. I hope that no-one ever finds out who did it - it's much cooler left as it is.
We had a phantom who left little presents when I last worked in the stacks. The things he left behind were not nearly as interesting. We called him the "Mad Whacker."
