I was going to post the same comment so instead I will tell you why I know it's a capybara.

When I was 12 I watched a nature show about piranas. It told all about this cute little animal that lives in south america and then showed one swimming across a river and getting devoured.

and the super bowl will scar kids for life...

And a capybara is a giant brazilian rat, hence "giant rat".

It's actually a pretty close relative of the hamster. It's just frickin' HUGE.

And I want to see that nature show now.
