Why it's SO IMPORTANT to men that I handle a gun. Since I was 11 males close to my age have always tried to get me to handle guns. Even when I DID - they'd just try to get me to hold more guns.
If it's a penis thing - whip it out and put that in my hand, at the most I'll risk an eye injury. But I seriously doubt the feminist hype that guns=penis.
Well... there's a difference in knowing how to safely handle a gun even if you don't ever plan on owning one, it's a good skill to have, and the really creepy world of gun fetishism like you're talking about.
I might maybe consider a gun to be unloaded if I personally had just unloaded it and not put it down and not been near any bullets and the gun is in a state where it could not be fired due to the minor issue of the cylinder not being in (or equivalent), but even then it's pre-loaded. It will be loaded again as soon as I stop paying attention.
See, this is precisely why rule #1 of handling firearms is "Do not point the gun at anything you do not want destroyed." It doesn't matter if you know what you're doing. People make mistakes. People forget stuff. And no matter how much you want to, you can't unscramble eggs (or brains)!
