(By which I mean, of course, he refused to go through security, was escorted out of the building, rebooked his flight, came back in, walked through without screening, and was let on the plane. Because he's a SENATOR, not a plebian. But.)

Date: 2012-01-23 07:04 pm (UTC)Hell, last time I tangled with them, I couldn't even get to the ball-fondling part of the experience because the agent at the head of the line refused to accept my ID. "Government ID," she slurred, "it has to be government-issued ID." Arguing that, no, really, both Canada and Ontario are governments went nowhere with her; I don't know what she thought they were instead. Was this a corporate-issued driver's license? Did I get this passport at fucking Wal-Mart?
My mother-in-law dragged me away before there was bloodshed. We entered a different lineup, this time headed by someone who had either looked at a world map at some point in her life or who was simply so dead inside that she no longer cared, and we continued with our journey.
It's only gotten worse since then, and I am really hoping I am not called on to travel to the States ever again.
