I need to track down more facts one way or another, but I've seen a lot of accusations that this is 'shopped by swapping the "O" and "M" shirts.

-- Steve agrees it's funny as Hell, and appropriate, but odds are it's fake.

Yes, the original shot of the kids shows that Glasses Kid is "O". But! (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/02/03/were-suckers-for-cute-kids-campaign-style/)

Doesn't look like the same shot (different background, different expressions). The M and O kids are the same height and gender, they could have been put in the wrong shirts or the wrong order for a few seconds. (Mind, I'm not saying it's not shopped - I didn't examine the pixels. But I'd be willing to bet this is a common schtick for a man who drove to Canada with the family dog strapped to the roof of the car.)

Ah! I was misreading your comment - I thought "The M and O kids are the same height and gender," as in "the M kid in the first shot and the M kid in the second shot look alike, and the O kids look alike".

Oh, yeah, sorry. I meant that from the back they'd look interchangeable, not that they were different kids in each shot.

I would bet it was a "Fun" shot while they prepped for the real one. The kids themselves could have done it to mess with dad.

Didn't anybody at the shoot look at the lined-up kids and forsee the photoshopping opportunities?

Is this not an inherent problem where your name is "Romney"? How would you solve this?

I dunno, but a bit more photoshopping could also spell 'Mormon', 'Mommy', 'Moron' and a host of other things. The point being, nobody is safe from 'shoppers.
