I love that it's the Communications Director - the guy in charge of making sure Romney's message gets out clearly - who is the one to admit that Romney has no positions and has no principles, he's just willing to say anything he thinks you want to hear in order for you to vote for him, but nobody else should worry if they disagree. Because, you see, if you disagree with what Romney is saying, that's okay, he's LYING for votes and doesn't mean any of it. And if you agree, well, then, VOTE ROMNEY.
He can't even keep it straight within one sentence:
"We may make mistakes as a nation from time to time and step on others' toes, and we'll say we're sorry for that, but apologizing for America is something I will never, ever do."
I get what he's TRYING to say - "we will apologise when we are wrong. We will not apologise for being America."
(I mean, leave aside the meaninglessness of that last phrase. It's simple jingoistic crap, and we know what he MEANS when he says it even if the words are stupid.)
But this dude is a COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR. For a "serious candidate". And he can't manage that?
Yeah, and yeah, but look what the CD is working with. Romney's been like this for decades, and as far as I can tell Fehnstrom has only been with him (as spokesman) since his recent gubernatorial days. "Etch-a-sketch" is putting the best shine on the turd that he possibly can.
