"There's no problems as long as I do it right" YES THAT IS CORRECT, but history shows that NOBODY does it right every time, and if you do it WRONG shit breaks. Whereas if you follow procedures, then doing it wrong breaks A VIRTUAL MACHINE NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT.
It wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't the third "major outage because people didn't follow my instructions and fucked up, where following my instructions would have meant fucking up didn't matter" THIS WEEK.
Sounds like you have deeper problems with that particular client(s) . . .
The other one that pisses me off on the rare occasions I let a client talk me into letting someone else onto a DC is when they break my other golden DC rule: No web surfing on (any of) the servers) but ESPECIALLY not on the DC.
