I heard about it first from a friend of mine who works for Tactus Tech. :D

Nice. I need this because touchscreens bug me. Touch is (probably based on my guess) our 2nd strongest sense - I need buttons!

Me, too. This will eliminate my "must have a physical keyboard" requirement for mobile devices.

This is (more or less) exactly what I have been waiting for.
I actually was ranting on just this subject only a couple of days ago. Apparently the internet was listening.

Anyway, here's someone explaining why we need this (http://worrydream.com/ABriefRantOnTheFutureOfInteractionDesign/), writing far more eloquently than I could be bothered with.

Yeah we need this. For every new version of a major mobile OS that comes out, there is the same band of idiot neophiles who declare that physical keyboards are truly obsoleted-- never mind that they said the same thing the same time last year, this time they mean it.

I just switched from a Droid 2 to a Galaxy Nexus. The GN is a sweet piece of glass, but Swifkey/Swype/etc does not supplant tactile buttons.

Now if they can make that screen deform into a model M keyboard, I will love them forever.

Cheese? Cress? Crumpets? Aaargh, it's killing me not to know.

Cheese. Probably. It would seem likely.
