I hate commercials, and most of what they play isn't to my taste (although I do admit that I enjoy the FUCK out of Lady Gaga -- it's not that I hate pop music, it's that I prefer 80's pop music over modern pop music any day of the week . . . and I mostly listen to Goth/Industrial or older heavy metal the rest of the time. So I *never* know what's currently a big hit, unless I keep hearing it played on the PA system of a shop or restaurant and finally ask someone what it is, if it's catchy or if I particularly despise it.)
As a result, I asked Josh last night, "This has to do with some super-popular song that I've never heard of, right?"
He said yes, and attempted to sing me the chorus, until I told him that his attempt to mimic the singer's voice made him sound like the creepy old man from Family Guy, at which point he went into full-on mimic mode (he can imitate that character frighteningly easily) and started making up terrible, terrible lyrics to go with the character.
Cue much flailing from me.
But the part that makes me laugh is -- I've had Concrete Blonde's "Joey" stuck in my head for a day or so, and . . . it almost kind of works!
