Borderlands 2 is on pre-release. I'm buying a 4-pack on principle but all four spots aren't taken yet - who wants in for $40?

Borderlands 1 is 75% off, currently at $7.50 for the game and all DLC. Oh, and it's free to play all weekend - so you have no excuse.

I already have my copy preordered and appreciated the 10% discount for owning borderlands. With that in mind and the sale price getting both is a net cost of only a couple bucks over just buying borderlands 2.

I was wondering why there was a copy of Borderlands in my Library with a countdown clock next to it... I'm such a Steam noob.

-- Steve won't be taking advantage; he has too many games going unplayed already.

I'm pretty sure I got Borderlands+DLCs last time it went on sale, adding to my growing collection of "games I've purchased through Steam and never touched", currently numbering N-1, the exception being the first game I ever got through Steam: Portal, when it was free. :]

Borderland? Borderlands!

Preordered as soon as the 10% sale came on (a little after the preorder).

Thanks for reminding me. I haven't played the DLCs yet and just got the GOTY edition.

Do the 4-pack releases include all the pre-order goodies?
If so, I'd be down.

Also: Yes. It is "four copies of the standard pre-order, one of which must go to the purchaser"

Already got ours in this household. When it gets released, I expect that the amount of rest for the wicked will plummet significantly.

Bought. Hate you. List of games owned but not played yet: n+1. And I'm still working on Dragon Age.

Not exactly true. There's no "rootkit" there, and no execution of arbitrary code, just a combination of security errors: if you run javascript from untrusted sites, and you installed the uPlay browser plugin to let you launch games from Ubisoft's website, any website can launch games you have previously installed by calling uPlay. uPlay, of course, quite happily launches because as far as it's considered, you just clicked on it. It doesn't distinguish between calls from ubisoft and calls from youenabledscriptiongyoudoofus.net

The browser plugin is not required to run uPlay, is not hidden from the user, and this trick does not allow execution of arbitrary code. "is a rootkit" is a little strong.

*nod* I'll concede that point. Even so, it is something I seriously do not like, and I wish that companies would stop being jackasses and finally admitted that hey, maybe treating a customer like a potential criminal is not the way to go, and cheap + easily available trumps pirates better.

And in this case, it isn't even the DRM that's the problem. It's the value-add stuff - achievements, stats, unlockables, multiplayer matchmaking, DLC. If all uPlay did was DRM, it wouldn't have this problem, because there would be no reason to have links on their website that did "Hey, add this thing to my game!"
