*hangs head* We have. Actually, it was stupider. We'd soak a tennis ball in metho and then play brandy with it (throwing it to hit people). Everyone had a garden glove to pick it up with. We played at night, it was like having a blue comet hurled around the neighbourhood.
The methanol isn't for that reason and doesn't help any. They put in bittering agents like Bitrex to stop people drinking it... and even then, some people filter it through burnt toast (activated charcoal) to render it more drinkable.
