PS: The Old Reader: A free RSS app/thingy intended to duplicate Google Reader except before all the "upgrades" and WAY before the "we're shutting off Google Reader because it is good and people like it" decision.

No mobile versions yet, but they say "soon".

They are throttling imports so I can't judge whether it's good or bad.

I've just installed http://www.feedafever.com/ on my shared hosting. Seems solid so far, but costs $30 for the software.

I'm trying FeedDemon on my computer and am liking it fine, though I would uninstall it in a heartbeat for something that came with a paired mobile app.

Thanks for this recommendation. Hopefully they'll make imports available again soon; when I checked it wasn't an option.

Has anyone tried NewsBlur? I am kind of tempted by that since The Old Reader is still in beta (apparently; I think).

I've tried to try NewsBlur, but even when the page loads the AJAX-ey bits don't work due to the overloaded servers. What little I've been able to poke at seems decent though.

It lets you sign in with Google or Facebook only. Something about having my absolutely everything in my GMail account, but I'm kind of twitchy re: that---sense of security, yea, nay?
