Perhaps the industry should be called IT, as in "Interface Technology." The "information" is, after all, only as good as the interface, which is only as good as the people, which is the weak link in the chain, every time.
One hopes that the outgoing message, because done by IT would at least have the reply-to set correctly, or the list of people done as a bcc at minimum.
