I like their neighbour's comment: "Herbert and Catherine Schaible are decent people who raise great kids. They just have one flaw: when their child gets critically ill, they don't take him to the hospital."

I would have missed out the "just" and added words like "serious", "huge", "monstrous" or similar.

They have murdered two of their children, so far. They have seven more shots at child-murder, barring real intervention.

Luckily for their children, that intervention has currently happened. If the kids are REALLY lucky, they'll never see their "parents" again, and a pair of murderers who have knowingly and repeatedly murdered children will not get a chance to murder a third.
