US Senators are debating the intricacies of Levicitus as a sound basis of policy and it's not an article from The Onion. This is not a good day.

We're really not having a good week down here. Was reading this article (http://news.sciencemag.org/scienceinsider/2013/04/us-lawmaker-proposes-new-criteri-1.html) this morning, about the newly proposed guidelines for NSF funding. Because apparently house representatives on the science committee don't know the definition of research, and we should know which projects are 'groundbreaking' and only fund those. Which is completely possible, assuming they have a time machine stashed somewhere. Bah.

I'm not really sure why my first comment got labeled spam, but I'm suspecting because I posted a link? So here's the comment again, sans link.

I might have to turn off Livejournal's "suspicious comment quarantine" feature. It's a little too happy about autoscreening comments with links, and not happy enough about telling me that the comment was flagged in the notification email.
