OK, I had to go back to May of this year to find a Penny Arcade strip that was genuinely funny, but that's still better than that silly strip generator. Behold (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2013/05/27).

Besides, they've been trying to make art recently rather than video game jokes, so some of the strips aren't even trying. (Although when it comes to art, what's the deal with giving everyone red and/or ridiculously bent noses recently?)

Mmmmnope.

As for what the deal is, it's called "Being Krahulik".

Eh, I don't think the generator's creator was trying for laughs so much as pointing out that Penny Arcade isn't funny and that Mike Krahulik, in particular, can eat the peanuts out of his shit.

And in the process, has managed to perfectly encapsulate Penny Arcade *while being funnier than most Penny Arcade*.

Uh, the fact that you had to go back to may to find a funny one tends to imply that my statement about the generator (to wit: "way funnier than most actual Penny Arcade strips") is true.

Might have been funny with, well, a setup that didn't leave (some) (mostly me) readers thinking "wait, you want to wave around your glowy screen while other people are watching a movie? can't you be all self-involved when your friends haven't paid money to pay attention to something else?" and a punchline that seemed to go out of its way to fall as limp as a shot balloon?

(And that's speaking as someone who fairly regularly gets dinged for having a reader's vocabulary and ties themselves up in knots over worrying about what other people will think.)

To be honest, "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist? More like Surinam Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist amirite?" genuinely made me laugh.
