Unfortunately, you haven't got the rhetoric dialled quite high enough for that to pass the Poe's Law barrier. You sound too much like you actually believe that for it to be as funny as you probably want.
Well, you said that Romney would have been just as bad, that Obama was 50% responsible for the shutdown, that "better-if-not-good" health care was "universal healthcare", and that it was being "shoved down people's throats", and that taxpayers weren't asked about it as if polls and an entire election where the people campaigned on repealling the health care law didn't happen. And then you said Obama was perpetuating the shutdown.
Those are are hilariously wrong statements, so I figured you were trying to be funny. But they're not actually hilarious, because there are people sincerely saying all of those ignorant things.
I think you should be happy that the first steps towards a working health care system - to wit, taking money from everyone to pay for health care for everyone - are being taken, and I think you should be upset that it didn't go further. You know that "penalty for not having insurance" bullshit? That's bullshit, and that should instead be "your insurance premium on the mandatory-if-you-don't-buy-something-else policy that's necessary for public health to actually work and is objectively a great benefit to you *and* your fellow citizens". Which is to say you damn well should still have to pay it, you just should also get health care when you do.
Also, ACA was made law in 2010. In 2010 and 2012 there were elections held, and one party explicitly campaigned, in both cases, on the platform of repealing ACA. They lost, both times. Then they tried to repeal it anyway, and lost ~50 more times. That's *tons* of asking if people want it, to go along with it being objectively better than the current system even if it's not as good as a real system.
Furthermore, am I supposed to be happy that the people supposedly in charge of keeping this country working are too busy having a pissing match with each other to bother doing their jobs?
No, I think you should be pissed about that. But I think you should be pissed at the hostage-takers who are deliberately sabotaging your government and economy to prevent poor people from receiving closer-to-adequate health care, and not the people they're trying to intimidate.
Your country is fundamentally broken in a great many ways, but you should be pissed at the people *exploiting that brokenness to hurt you*, not the people who are trying to patch the holes.
And I didn't call you an idiot. I initially said I thought you were joking but hadn't taken things far enough for it to be funny, because I really thought you were trying for parody.
I would assume it to be a vast overreaction if it were only to me, yes. However, IIRC his last few posts he's been having a rough time of things in real life lately, and this might be unrelated or I might have been the last straw on the camel? I don't know. I'd have to ask him, and I don't have a way to do that that isn't "google his username and look for it on other sites"-level of lookup.
