Apparently, "took an arrow to the knee" is old Nordic slang for getting married, like "tied the knot".

Really changes the whole meaning of that thing.

The second-greatest Skyrim mod ever is still the Divine Retribution one, where lightning from the sky strikes and kills anyone who uses That Line.

(And it's actually pretty profitable, since dead dudes don't own stuff.)

Apparently untrue - I can't turn up anything about that etymology of the phrase, neither can this guy, and the developers claim one of them wrote it.

(I mean, totally not surprised that geek/gamer culture spat out that interpretation, but.)
