On the one side, you have a flag representing the idea that gay people are, in fact, people. On the other side, you have a flag representing the idea that black people are animals to be kept as property. Obviously one of these is more offensive than the other.
I'm a bit curious about the methodology, though, given that 76% of those polled identified as either "Somewhat conservative" or "Very conservative". This is not average American numbers.
