Well. It's not as though they can invoke the Olympic Rings in their logo - the IOC gets ridiculously touchy about that. (Really, any logo containing five interlocking circles is dangerous. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_the_Five_Rings#International_Olympic_Committee))
It's my understanding that that's only under US law because of a dodgily written Act of Congress, you can do stuff in the rest of the world as long as it's not passing off, but given it's an Olympics thing it'd get caught by that anyway.
(and I still have cards with the old backs in a few deck, just for the sake of it, not that I've played for ages)
Oh, I just noticed something else---normally, when they have a subject in their Google Doodle clicking on the Doodle sends you to a search on that subject, such as a search on "Martin Luther King, Jr." on the MLK Day Doodle---but check where this one goes. It does not go to the official link of the Olympics. They are not giving the clickthroughs.
Hah, nice! I hadn't even thought of the subtler meaning of the design/quote when I brushed past the Google front page on my way online today. Well done, Google.

I am in love with what they are doing a little bit.
