Okay. You're familiar with dungeon crawling, right? Party of adventurers visits dungeon, kills goblins, takes loot?

Dungeon Keeper is the first (and almost certianly the best) of the "You're the dungeon, kill the heroes" games. You're the "Keeper", possessing a disembodied hand and a horde of imps who will do your bidding. You build the dungeon, attract and train the monsters, defeat the heroes (and occasionally rival Keepers), and conquer the world in the name of Evil.

Third-person isometric view, kind of a variant on RTS. And free. The free part is important.

But yeah: Peter Molyneux, Bullfrog Games, an actual classic that was very fun. And is now free.

here's something worth knowing: if you accidentally click load instead of save, there's no warning prompt for losing unsaved progress. also the save and load buttons are almost identical, being just pictures instead of words.
