Airline passenger annoys ticket clerk.

Airline passenger then gets on plane and flies to destination, then security arrests her, searches her luggage, and, finding nothing, destroys it with an explosive charge.

TSA representative says the passenger was "mouthy and snippy", but that they have decided not to press charges.

I think this story is proof that a post-graduate degree does not denote intelligence.

Making a bomb comment at an aiport... Oh. My. god.

Let alone "If I had a bomb you wouldn't find it". Can you blame them for taking her at her word and assuming that although they weren't able to find it, there might still be a bomb?

*AFTER* flying it to it's destination, on board the plane?

If they seriously thought there was a bomb on board, they wouldn't have put the suitcase on the plane and they wouldn't have flown it to its destination. This is not "taking her at her word", this is pure, petty, bureaucratic revenge.
