One night while shopping for books online, despite never having heard of Better Myths before, I bought Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes on a whim, because it was on special.

When it arrived, and after I stopped giggling over it, I decided that it was one of the best somewhat tipsy shopping decisions I've ever made, and promptly bought several other copies for friends who'd also had a faintly classical education.

I've been sporadically reading Better Myths ever since. Yay, internet!

(Also, I once learned Jabberwocky by heart, which makes reading this version all the more entertaining.)

Similarly, while I absolutely detested learning poems by heart in Literature classes, I decided to learn Jabberwocky. Because it is both Culture and Nonsense, which is excellent. Apple will inscribe any random iOS device with two lines' worth of text at a time, and Jabberwocky is a very good source of inscriptions for at least the first few handfuls of devices.

My wife and her father would regale the family with The Walrus and the Carpenter, and decades later, both still know it by heart. :)
